Pause for thought 28th July
Apologies that there has not been a pause for thought for a few weeks now; holidays and business have got in the way.
I was quite saddened when England departed the World Cup; 'delusionally’ I had high hopes for them; still, I guess all we can do is keep our hopes up for future success!
I am reminded that within our lives sometimes life delivers up disappointment to us… but one of the things that we can do is to keep on keeping on! Not giving up; having resilience and tenacity.
I don't know whether you know where the term resilience comes from. It is taken from the image of a coiled spring that is compressed and then after that compression, goes back to its original shape. That is a wonderful picture of resilience, coming back to shape!
I wonder what helps you to come back to shape, to be resilient?
For me without question it is the little things that I pursue as hobbies that restore.
Sitting in a bird hide, or on a canal bank; building Lego or creating with my coloured pencils.
However, there is one other thing and that is my relationship with God worked at through prayer and the reading of scripture. I encourage you, in part, to find your resilience in the same place!
It’s a thought!
Blessings
